Burapha University realized the importance of maritime and logistics human resources development and to achieve the academic excellence of maritime and logistics field, hence the maritime college is established on July 29, 2000. At present, the university has welcomed the Merchant Marine Training Center as a supporting unit, the announcement being made in the Royal Gazette on October 19, 1998.
To achieve the mission of the faculty of logistics to cover every aspects of maritime and logistics fields, the Burapha University Council passed a motion in its meeting on June 3, 2005 to change its name from the Maritime College to the College of Transport and Logistics. However, in January 2008, Burapha University’s status was upgraded to that of an autonomous university. Furthermore, its administration was overhauled. Thus the College of Transport and Logistics had been changed to the “Faculty of Logistics” on 4 July, 2008.
